MyStory

Iran

I was born in December 1997 in Mashhad, a city in northeastern Iran. As an only child to my parents, Ramin and Mozhgan, I grew up in a nurturing and intellectually supportive environment. I attended Kavosh and Omid primary schools and, at the age of 12, was accepted into the prestigious NODET system (National Organization for Development of Exceptional Talents), continuing my education at Hashemi Nezhad High School.

Armenia and back to Iran

At 17, I moved to Yerevan, Armenia, where I completed my high school diploma in experimental sciences over two years. I then returned to Iran to pursue a B.Sc. in Chemistry at Sharif University of Technology (SUT), one of the top institutions in the country. During my undergraduate years, I actively engaged in student life—first as a member of the student union, then as Vice President of the Kavosh Scientific Association. My academic journey deepened when I joined Dr. H. Parastar’s Chemometrics Research Group as a research assistant, where I worked on signal processing and data modeling in analytical chemistry.

Canada

Currently, I live in Vancouver, Canada, where I am pursuing my PhD in Physical Analytical Chemistry at the University of British Columbia. My research focuses on combining Raman spectroscopy with advanced machine learning models to study complex materials. Outside the lab, I enjoy the vibrant cultural life and natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest—whether it’s hiking in the nearby mountains, reading philosophy, or experimenting with new coffee blends. Vancouver has been both a personal and intellectual home, where I continue to grow as a scientist and a global citizen.

Next Destination

As a person moving constantly to different cities, I doubt staying in Vancouver long. Where my faith will take me next? Is it Jeddah? Rio? or maybe LA?
